Professor Ara Darzi is Director of the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London, Chair of Surgery at Imperial and the Institute of Cancer Research, and Executive Chair of the World Innovation Summit for Health. A leading figure in global health policy, he has authored more than 1,000 peer-reviewed publications and led pioneering work in surgical innovation and healthcare systems.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Society, Royal Academy of Engineering, and Academy of Medical Sciences. Knighted in 2002 and appointed to the UK House of Lords in 2007, he is a member of the Privy Council and recipient of the prestigious Order of Merit.
