Dr. Garabed Antranikian
Microbiology pioneer and innovation leader advancing biocatalysis, extremophiles, and sustainable biotechnology.

Prof. Garabed Antranikian is a distinguished microbiologist and biotechnologist whose career spans more than four decades of scientific research, academic leadership, and innovation. Currently Director of the Center for Biobased Solutions at Hamburg University of Technology, he previously served as President of the university and has led major European and national research consortia in biocatalysis and extremophile biology. His work includes more than 235 publications and 165 international patents.

A member of multiple academies, including the Academy of Sciences of Armenia and Hamburg, he has been widely recognized for contributions to environmental protection and biotechnological innovation. He is a key collaborator of FAST through the ADVANCE program and continues to shape the global field of sustainable industrial biotechnology.
